Wendi McLendon-Covey is an acclaimed actor, comedian, and producer known for her sharp wit and dynamic range. She recently completed a remarkable 10-season run on ABC’s hit series The Goldbergs, earning two Critics Choice nominations, and now stars in NBC/Peacock’s workplace comedy St. Denis Medical, which has also received Critics Choice recognition.

In 2025, Wendi launched Strong Beach Productions alongside longtime manager Gladys Gonzalez, expanding her creative influence by developing and producing film and television projects. A veteran of over 40 films, her credits include blockbusters like Bridesmaids, What Men Want, and Blended, as well as celebrated indie projects such as Hello, My Name is Doris and Blush. Fans also know her for her beloved role as Deputy Clementine Johnson on Reno 911, and she has appeared on Modern Family, The Office, Rules of Engagement, and Netflix’s Unstable. She has also made her mark in animation, lending her voice to Disney’s Big City Greens, Pixar’s Oscar-nominated Elemental, FOX’s Grimsburg, and more.

Wendi began her career at the legendary Groundlings Theater in Los Angeles, mastering both improv and sketch comedy. Beyond her on-screen success, she is a devoted philanthropist dedicated to uplifting others. She actively supports the Long Beach Women’s Shelter, PETA, and Foster Nation, and proudly lends her voice and platform to the Black Fairy Godmother Foundation, helping expand its mission to support women, families, and underserved communities in need.

She lives in Long Beach with her husband of nearly three decades and their rescue cats.
